About DownReels
A quiet, modern utility built around clarity, strict privacy, and honest platform capabilities.
Our philosophy
Most video download websites are cluttered with deceptive advertising, fake 'Download' buttons that trigger malware, and unsupported promises of universal downloading.
DownReels takes the opposite approach. We prioritize clean typography, honest capability reporting, and respectful operation. If a provider is unavailable or unauthorized, we explain why and direct you to official options instead of presenting broken buttons.
Architecture and security
DownReels is engineered with server-enforced security boundaries. All media operations execute in isolated, non-root sandbox environments with strictly controlled network egress. We never accept user cookies, credentials, or private content access.
Output files are stored temporarily on ephemeral storage and automatically deleted after 30 minutes by an automated janitor process. We retain no persistent media archives.
